My Story
Welcome to my wonderful world of ceramics, a place where I get to make beautiful ceramics in my home, for yours. Elizabeth Bell Ceramics is home to a range of timeless, handcrafted ceramics made by ceramic artist and pottery teacher, Elizabeth Bell (that’s me!).
Along with a core range of products, I offer seasonal, limited-edition collections and made-to-order pieces. Passing on my love of ceramics, I also host interactive workshops and term classes for people of all skill sets, based out of my studio in Geelong, Victoria.
As a business, I am making conscious efforts that aim toward running a low-impact, sustainable business, to ensure its environmental impact is as minimal as possible. From recycling clay to energy use, logistics and functional items, I am constantly making conscious decisions to do our part for the greater good.

Meet the Team
Elizabeth Bell – Founder, Owner and Teacher

After falling in love with the art form whilst honeymooning in Japan, Elizabeth set out to learn pottery from masters around the world. Traveling through Europe, Asia, and Africa, she honed her trade in all corners of the globe from Nepal to London. She made her way back to Australia in 2019, where she has now set up her studio, showroom and classroom in Fyansford at the historical Fyansford Paper Mills.
Along with being a ceramic artist, Elizabeth is a proud Mother to Quinn (5) and Jack (2) and Wife to Jordan. She loves creating long-lasting pieces for your home and passing on her passion through teaching, hoping she can bring joy to others through ceramics.
Rylie Jabornik – Teacher

Rylie’s love for pottery has been going strong for around 5 years. Rylie offers classes in both wheel throwing and hand-building and is a fun and informative teacher. She teaches both tasters and terms and you might even see her helping in the studio, doing administration or packing orders. Rylie is a part-time event manager, part-time potter and full-time mum to Cocker Spaniel, Rory.

Danny Cox – Teacher

Danny creates one-of-a-kind, wheel-thrown functional ceramics from his studio in Geelong, Australia. Each piece is thoughtfully made with an emphasis on simplicity, utility, and connection to place. Driven by a deep curiosity for materials, Danny is passionate about researching, testing, and incorporating locally sourced clays, slips, and ashes into his work—giving each piece a subtle sense of origin and story.
Sustainability is at the heart of his practice. Danny is committed to working in ways that tread lightly on the environment. His studio operates with an ethos of care—for materials, process, and the people who use his pottery every day.

Jess Jones – Teacher

Jessica Jones, also known as Wombat Pottery, is a practicing ceramic artist based in Inverleigh with a love for throwing tall jugs and a passion for alternative firing techniques such as wood and salt firing. Jess first joined Elizabeth Bell Ceramics as an intern, and her delightful demeanour quickly won us over—so much so that we encouraged her to stay on as a tutor! Now a valued member of the team, you’ll find her in the studio on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, helping with glazing, reclaiming clay, and guiding students with warmth and care. A nature lover, animal enthusiast, and keen traveller, Jess brings her many passions into her work, making her a much-loved part of the EBC community.

Leah Grant – Teacher

Leah is a colourful creative who wants to bring more pink into the world! From painting vibrant murals to getting her hands dirty with clay, she’s fascinated by how the creative process can impact your wellbeing. Leah taught wheel throwing at a ceramic studio in Adelaide for three years and has over 10 years experience as a high school art teacher. She finds the most rewarding part of teaching others is listening to their stories and watching their eyes light up when the clay finally centres on the wheel!
