Description

In this engaging and hands-on workshop, you will have the opportunity to unleash your creativity and bring your dream piece to life. Our experienced instructor Jess Nowson will guide you through various pottery techniques, including slab building, pinching, and coiling.

The vase will be constructed using the coiling technique, where long, snake-like coils of clay are stacked in layers. This method will allow for greater control over the shape and form, enabling intricate detailing and smooth, organic lines. This technique allows you to experiment with different textures, patterns, and designs, enabling you to create a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your personal style.

This piece draws inspiration from classical sculptures and modern interpretations of the human form in art. The goal is to create a timeless piece that celebrates both the aesthetic beauty and the functional utility of ceramics. We loving seeing your own interpretation of beauty. Boobs, bums and bellies are all encouraged.

Ideal as a centrepiece in a living space, this female form vase serves as both a work of art and a practical vessel for floral arrangements, adding elegance and a touch of sophistication to any setting. The size of the vase can vary, but a typical piece might stand around 15-20cm tall, with a width proportionate to the human form being depicted. The opening at the top will be appropriately sized to hold a small bouquet of flowers.

The workshop will be using a white grogged clay, to get results like the photos a BRT slip can be applied during the class.

As this workshops run for 4 hours, you may choose to bring snacks or beverages (BYO alcohol).

Your favourite piece (max 1) from the workshop will be finished, glazed and ready for collection around 4 weeks after the class. Shipping can be arranged at your expense, generally around $15.00.

This workshop will be hosted and taught by Jess Nowson.
