Description

Join Inverleigh-based potter Jessica Jones—also known as Wombat Pottery—for a hands-on and inspiring class. Jess is a passionate maker with a particular love for throwing tall, elegant jugs and exploring the magic of alternative firings, including wood and salt firing. With her calm, grounded presence and love for the process, Jess brings a thoughtful and experimental approach to ceramics. Whether you’re just beginning or looking to refine your skills, this is a beautiful opportunity to learn from a practicing artist who truly lives and breathes clay.

Throw bigger. Throw taller. Throw better. Whether you’re chasing sky-high cylinders or trying to tame the wide and wobbly, this is your chance to push your skills and have an absolute blast doing it.

We’ll dive into advanced techniques, challenge ourselves, and cheer each other on — think of it as a pottery gym session, but with more laughs and zero burpees. It’s a learning experience. Don’t take it too seriously or come in with production-making in mind.

All pieces will be recycled unless you choose to purchase clay (Bennetts and Blackwattle available) and use our firing service at $15 per kg. You will need to take those pieces home to trim. No storage available. Bring a big bread tray if transporting.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks are provided, and there’s a café on site if you need a proper pick-me-up.
Feeling festive? It’s a Sunday, after all — BYO wine is totally welcome.

Come for the throwing, stay for the vibes.

What is included;

  • Tools & equipment (You may also bring your own throwing tools)
  • 5 Hour Class Time – 10am-3pm (this includes cleaning up)
