Description

Join our exciting pottery class for a unique and immersive experience in the art of ceramics. In this class, we offer a perfect blend of wheel throwing and hand-building techniques, giving you a taste of both worlds.

For the first 1.5 hours of the class, we will dive into the mesmerizing art of wheel throwing. Guided by our experienced instructor, you will learn the fundamentals of shaping clay on the potter’s wheel. Discover the joy of centering, throwing, and shaping clay as it spins on the wheel, allowing your creativity to take form. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, our instructor will provide personalized guidance to help you create beautiful pottery pieces.

After the exhilarating wheel-throwing session, it’s time to unwind and relax for the next hour. We believe in fostering a laid-back atmosphere, so we encourage you to bring your own alcoholic beverages to enjoy while you explore the art of hand-building. Handbuilding allows for a slower pace, providing a peaceful and meditative experience. You’ll learn various hand-building techniques, such as pinching, coiling, and slab construction, to create unique and expressive pottery pieces.

Throughout the class, our instructor will share their expertise and passion for pottery, offering tips, tricks, and inspiration to enhance your artistic journey. Whether you prefer the dynamic and fast-paced nature of wheel throwing or the tranquil and contemplative approach of hand-building, this class is designed to provide you with a well-rounded experience in both techniques.

Come and join us for a pottery class that combines the best of both worlds, where you can indulge in the exhilaration of wheel throwing and find solace in the serenity of hand-building. Unleash your creativity, make new friends, and take home beautiful pottery pieces that reflect your unique style. No prior experience is necessary—all you need is a willingness to explore and a desire to unleash your artistic potential.

Smaller classes afford you more time so we can work at your own pace or on a specific item you would like to create. There will be a maximum of 4 on the wheel. A minimum of 4 tickets must be sold for this class to go ahead. If not sold, you will be contacted to change dates or for a refund.

Your 3 favourite pieces from the workshop will be finished, glazed and ready for collection around 4 weeks after the class. Shipping can be arranged at your expense, generally around $15.00.

This workshop will be hosted and taught by Rylie Jabornik.
