Description

Join Geelong-based potter, Danny Cox, on this intensive one day wheel throwing workshop. This workshop will focus on scaling up your work, creating larger vessels by seamlessly joining multiple sections together.

The focus of this workshop will be on creating a large vessel that would be difficult for you to throw in one piece. By constructing a pot in multiple sections we are able to pay special attention to the pots form. We will discuss and explore the structure of various pots and break them down into sections so as to gain a better understanding of how to approach making them. Those shapes you may struggle to create by throwing in one piece, will suddenly become a lot more achievable.

While prior wheel-throwing experience is necessary, participants need not be professional potters to join. A minimum ability to center 1kg of clay is recommended to fully engage in the workshop experience.
